BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team will host Furman and UNCG this week in The Pete Hanna Center. The Furman match, which is the teams Camp Night, is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and the UNCG match is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Youth who have attended the Bulldogs Volleyball Camps and wear their camp shirt to the Camp Night game against Furman will get in for free.
So far in conference play the Bulldogs are 3-5, coming off winning two straight on the road against Western Carolina and Mercer. Bulldogs are 8-11 overall for the season.
Ally Cordes was recently named the league's offensive player of the week. She led the Bulldogs in kills on the two-match road trip with a total of 35 kills along with 16 digs and two service aces. Cordes is fifth in the conference in kills with 268,
Kaleigh Meritt is third with 275.
Both Furman and UNCG are 5-3 in conference play. Furman won their most recent match against Western Carolina, 3-0, while UNCG lost their last match against ETSU, 2-3. Furman's Tennyson Gorman leads the conference in blocks with 97 while UNCG's Allie Sweet leads the conference in kills with 334.
Live stats will be available for both matches and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
