BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Samford women's basketball earned a 65-59 victory over Lipscomb on Wednesday evening at the Pete Hanna Center, improving to 6–8 on the season behind a balanced and timely performance on both ends of the floor.
The Bulldogs led after the opening quarter and closed the game strong in the fourth, outscoring the Bisons 19-8 over the final 10 minutes to secure the win .
Kaylee Yarbrough sparked Samford off the bench, scoring 17 points and knocking down three shots from beyond the arc to provide a crucial offensive lift. This is her fourth straight game scoring in the double digits. She recently scored a career high 29 points against USC Upstate.
Sierra Godbolt anchored the Bulldogs throughout the contest, finishing with 15 points while attacking the paint and converting key opportunities late, including perfect free-throw shooting down the stretch to seal the result .
Francie Morris led the Bulldogs in rebounds with eight while Briana Rivera scored 12 points all from beyond the arc adding to her nationwide lead of made three pointers.
The Bulldogs will return to action on the road, traveling to face UAB on Monday, December 22nd, with tip-off scheduled for 11 a.m.
