BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Samford women's basketball team returns to the road on Sunday, December 28, traveling to Starkville to face Mississippi State at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs look to respond after a 65-49 setback to in-town rival UAB, continuing a challenging non-conference stretch away from home.

Samford has been paced offensively by freshman Kaylee Yarbrough, who has led the Bulldogs in scoring in each of the last five games. Yarbrough scored a team-high 13 points in the meeting with UAB and remains a consistent presence on the offensive end. Sunday's match up marks the third all-time meeting between Samford and Mississippi State in women's basketball.

Mississippi State enters the contest with a 12–1 record and momentum following an 85–37 victory over La Salle. Jaylah Lampley led the Mississippi State Bulldogs in that game with 18 points. MSU is in its fourth season under head coach Sam Purcell.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and followed via Live Stats.
