GLENCOE, Ala. – Samford sophomore
Gabi Nicastro is in a tie for first after the first round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic, hosted by Jacksonville State Sunday at Silver Lakes.
Nicastro fired an even-par 72 in Sunday's opening round, tying her for the lead in the 43-player field with Paula Perez Cubinas of Jacksonville State.

Anika Richards is in a tie for fourth with a first-round score of 75.
Grace Engel is tied for 31
st at 82,
Ella Stoll is tied for 36

Morgan Franklin is tied for 38
th at 86.
Playing as individuals, with their scores not counting towards the team's total were
Christian Williams, tied for 21
st at 80 and
Kate Joyner, tied for 31
st at 82.
As a team, Samford sits in fourth place in the seven-team event, with a score of 315. The host, Jacksonville State, leads the event with a first-round score of 298.
