GADSDEN, Ala. – Samford's
Gabi Nicastro and
Anika Richards both finished in the top 10 at the Chris Banister Golf Intercollegiate, played Sunday through Tuesday at the RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes.
Nicastro finished in a tie for third, while Richards tied for seventh in the 93-player field. Nicastro shot a three-round total of three-over-par 219 (73-73-73). Richards finished with a score of 223 (76-74-73).
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 62-over-par 926 (309-311-306) to finish in a tie for sixth in the 16-team field. Tennessee won the event with a final score of 869 (291-292-286).
Following Nicastro and Richards,
Grace Engel tied for 28
th with a final score of 231 (74-79-78).
Kate Joyner finished in a tie for 79
th at 254 (87-85-82), while
Anne Reaves Skinner tied for 83
rd at 256 (86-87-83).
Next up, Samford will compete in the ULM Invitational, Mar. 30-31.
