BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's and women's track and field teams head to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational. They are scheduled to compete in action on Friday and Saturday against a large field of teams from the southeast.
The Bulldogs have competed over the past three weekends, at Kennesaw State, Ole Miss, and Alabama. The Dogs had two athletes named Southern Conference Athletes of the Week this week after competing at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
Kyle Kaufelds and
Bradley Franklin were named athletes of the week, making them the fourth and fifth winners of the outdoor season for the Bulldogs.
Maddie Edwards took home a win last weekend in the women's 400m hurdles. She set the second-best time in outdoor school history with a time of 59.01. Other standouts included
Ellison Chadwick who in her top three finish, set the second-best mark in program history with a best jump of 5.94.Â
Carter Ellis finished fourth in the men's pole vault and set a personal-best clearance of 5.25 meters.Â
Adeline Haisch ran the third-fastest time in Bulldog history in the women's 1500m as she came in third place at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
