SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior
Anika Richards was named the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week when the league released its weekly golf awards Wednesday afternoon.
Richards led Samford in the ULM Invitational earlier this week. She finished in a tie for sixth in the 57-player field. She finished the tournament with a three-round total of one-under-par 215 (73-72-70).
This marks the second time this season Richards has been named SoCon Women's Golfer of the Week as she also earned the honor on Feb. 12. For the season, Richards is second on the team with a stroke average of 75.96. She has posted four top-10 finishes during the 2024-25 season.
Richards and the Bulldogs will next compete in the Southern Conference Championship, April 14-16 in Columbia, S.C.
