BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's and women's cross country program has set its slate for the upcoming 2025 season. The Bulldog's two teams will compete together, back to back, at each of their five events during the season. The Dogs are coming off a second-place finish on the women's side and a fourth-place finish on the men's side in the Southern Conference last season.
Head coach
Wes Penberthy leads his Bulldog sides in his second season at Samford as they begin on Aug. 29 at Jacksonville State. They return to action nearly a month later at Florida State on Sept. 26 and then compete at Alabama on Oct. 17. Their season builds to the SoCon Conference Championship meet on Nov. 1 at a location to be determined and the NCAA South Regional meet in Huntsville on Nov. 14.
On the women's side, the Bulldogs lose their top four finishers from last season's conference meet but do return
Felicity Hamilton, who was SoCon Freshman of the Year and finished in 16th position. The men's team returns the majority of their main runners from last season's squad, as all five point scorers in the SoCon meet are back. The team is led by
Andrew McGinnis and
William Jordan, who were each top-20 runners in the conference last year.Â
