SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For a second-straight week, Samford sophomore goalkeeper
Peyton Hull was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly women's soccer awards Tuesday afternoon.
In two games last week, Hull led the Bulldogs to a pair of shutouts. For the week, she saved nine shots without allowing a goal.
In Thursday night's 0-0 tie at Belmont, she had three saves. She then tallied six saves in Sunday night's 0-0 draw at UAB. Samford has now posted five-straight shutouts and has not allowed a goal in 462 minutes of play.
Next up, Samford will open Southern Conference play by playing host to Western Carolina on Thursday, Sept. 18. The game is set for a 6 p.m. start from Shauna Yelton Field. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
