BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will host the Furman Paladins on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026 at the Pete Hanna Center for a White Out.
Samford leads the all-time series with Furman, 23-15, including a 14-4 mark in games played in Birmingham. The Bulldogs have won eight of the last ten meetings, most recently defeating the Paladins, 73-62, on Feb. 22, 2025. Bulldogs are looking to bounce back after their first home conference game resulted in a loss to Wofford on Thursday.
Samford's offense is powered by elite three-point shooting. Briana Rivera enters Saturday as the nation's leader in both three-pointers made (69) and threes per game (3.29), also topping the SoCon in attempts. Kaylee Yarbrough provides additional perimeter efficiency, ranking third in the SoCon in three-point percentage (35.8%). Yarbrough is the Bulldogs leading scorer with 255 on the season and leads all freshmen in the SoCon in scoring.
Furman enters the weekend at 11-8 overall and 3-1 in SoCon play, tied for first place and riding a three-game winning streak. The Paladins lead the league in scoring at 71.5 points per game and attack the rim to generate frequent trips to the line (20.88 free throw attempts per game). Defensively, they are disruptive—leading the SoCon and ranking top-25 nationally in turnovers forced (22.24) and steals (12.5) per game.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and scheduled for tip off at 4 pm from the Pete Hanna Center.
