BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – The Samford women's golf team finished fourth and two Samford players finished in the top 10 at Southern Conference Championship, held Monday through Wednesday at the Columbia Country Club (Par 72, 6,150 yards).
Samford finished with a final three-round team score of 49-over-par 913 (306-305-302). Furman won the event with a final score of 894 (289-304-301).
Individually for Samford,
Anika Richards (75-74-76) and
Grace Engel (78-75-72) both finished in a tie for eighth in the 45-player field with identical scores of 225.
Gabi Nicastro tied for 17
th at 230 (76-78-76).
Kate Joyner tied for 21
st with a three-round score of 233 (77-78-78).
Anne Reaves Skinner, who sat out the first two rounds as the team's substitute, played Wednesday's final round in place of
Ella Stoll, shooting a 79. Stoll shot an 85 and an 89 in the first two rounds.
