Former Georgia volleyball player Kilee Goetz begins her third season as second assistant coach at Samford.
In last three years, she has helped Head Coach Derek Schroeder lead the Bulldogs to two consecutive winning seasons and two Southern Conference North Division titles. She works closely with setters Casey Garvey, who was an Under Armour All-American, and Hillary Fountain, who was named first-team All-Conference and Player of the Week twice in 2009 and was ranked fourth in the country in 2008. She is also the recruiting coordinator and assists with serve and receive.
In December 2008, Goetz became head coach of the 17-1 team for the Birmingham Volleyball Club. She led her club to second place in the SRVA open level. Her team was the first team in the club's history to qualify for USAV Nationals.
Goetz came to Samford after four months with Michigan Elite Volleyball in Warren, Mich. She was the setter trainer and worked with the 17-National program. She served for three years as the head varsity volleyball coach for Kalamazoo Central High School in Michigan and improved the team record from five wins to 40 in her first season.
She worked under Rob A. Buck as lead trainer at The American Athlete during 2003-07, training coaches and athletes into the USA Michigan Volleyball system. She also worked with USA Volleyball high-performance camps.
She was a four-time All-State setter at Blissfield High School from 1996-99 and a two-time All-American setter for USA Michigan.
In 2007, Goetz graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology. She is a board-certified associate behavior analyst [BCABA].
