BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford head football coach Pat Sullivan will be taking a few days away from his team as he deals with a bout with pneumonia, the athletics department announced on Monday.
 
Sullivan is working to get back to his team as it prepares for Saturday's season-opening game against Furman.
 
The Bulldogs are taking Monday off from practice as classes for the fall semester begin. The team's next practice will be held Tuesday afternoon.
