Williams Performs At NFL Combine Monday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Former Samford defensive lineman Nicholas Williams performed Monday at the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Field.
 
Williams ran a 4.94, 40-yard dash on Monday. He completed 28 reps in the bench press, jumped a height of 33.0 inches in the vertical jump and 111.0 inches in the broad jump.
 
This marks the second-straight year that a Samford player has been invited to the NFL Combine. Last season, Corey White performed at the Combine and was drafted in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints.
 
Williams had his best season as a senior at Samford. He finished the season with 31 tackles, including 15 solo stops. Williams had 8.0 tackles for a loss and a team-high 7.0 sacks in 2012. His 7.0 sacks ranked second in the Southern Conference.
 
For his career, Williams had 66 tackles, with 39 of those being solo stops. He finished his career with 11 tackles for a loss and 10.5 sacks.
 
Samford will hold its 2013 Pro Day on March 12, at Seibert Stadium.
