BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford University men's tennis team will continue play in its 2014 fall season at home this weekend as the Bulldogs host the Samford Fall Invite, Friday through Sunday, at the Samford Tennis Complex. Play is slated to begin at 10 a.m. (CDT) Friday.
In its second competition of the fall campaign, Samford will square off against competitors from Auburn-Montgomery and UAB. The three-day event will consist of a round-robin format with four singles flights and two doubles brackets. There will be a single champion awarded for each flight.
Singles and doubles will be played each day, starting with doubles competition every morning. On Friday and Saturday, matches will begin at 10 a.m., while Sunday is slated to start at 9 a.m.
Samford continues play in its 2014 fall season this weekend boasting an extremely talented team. The Bulldogs are led by senior
Austin Akers, juniors
Trey Carter and
Fares Kilani, as well as sophomores
Austin Ferrer,
Henry Moore and
Liam Sullivan. Samford's roster also includes highly-touted true freshmen
Jake Faundez and
Austin Heinz.
The 2014 Samford Fall Invite is schedule to begin at 10 a.m. (CDT) Friday with the doubles competition being followed by singles play. All of the matches will be held at the Bulldogs' state-of-the-art Samford Tennis Complex.
