BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Samford football team practiced for about two hours in full pads Monday afternoon at Seibert Stadium.
The practice was the sixth workout of the spring for the Bulldogs. Samford head coach
Pat Sullivan said he continues to like the way his team is working this spring.
"It's been a good day," Sullivan said. "They've come to work every day so far this spring. If we keep that up, we're going to be in good shape."
Monday's practice was the first since the team scrimmaged for the first time on Saturday. After looking at film of the scrimmage, Sullivan said he liked the effort his team showed on Saturday.
"We said going in we wanted effort and enthusiasm," Sullivan said. "I thought their effort and enthusiasm was as good as we've had for a scrimmage since we've been here. Both sides of the ball really played with a lot of effort."
Sullivan talked about a few players who caught his eye during the scrimmage as well.
"You had to notice
Brandon Wilkinson on defense," Sullivan said. "He did a great job rushing the passer. I thought all of the quarterbacks did a good job. All of the running backs made some nice runs and then they made some mistakes too. Overall, I thought it was good."
Samford will practice again Wednesday afternoon. The workout is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
