Football Continues Prep For Western Carolina Game

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --The Samford football team continued its preparation for Saturday's game at Western Carolina with a two-hour workout in shells Tuesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium.

The Bulldogs continued installing their game plan for Saturday's game during the Tuesday workout. Samford head coach Chris Hatcher praised his team's effort, execution and attitude following the practice.

"We had a good day, I was really pleased with their effort," Hatcher said. "Our execution level is picking up. I think we have a little better attitude this week, I think we have a bad case of the wants back about us. Last Saturday is over and we're moving forward."

Samford enters this week with a record of 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Southern Conference play. Western Carolina is currently 4-2 overall and 2-1 in league games.

Saturday's game will mark Samford's third road game in the last four contests. Hatcher said he feels like his team has handled playing on the road well so far.

"We've traveled well and hopefully we'll continue to do so," Hatcher said. "Everything in this conference is difficult and it makes it even more difficult when you go on the road. We're excited about the opportunity to get back out and play and try to redeem ourselves this weekend."

Samford will practice again Wednesday afternoon. The workout is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.

Saturday's game at Western Carolina is scheduled to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. (CT) in Cullowhee, N.C. The contest can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samford.edu/wvsu. Fans can also watch the game online via the SoCon Digital Network.
