Samford StatsBIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford University women's tennis team remained undefeated in Southern Conference play Sunday as the Bulldogs cruised to a 7-0 shutout victory against the Wofford Terriers in a league matchup held at the Samford Tennis Center.
With the triumph,
Samford (8-7, 2-0 SoCon) extended its winning streak to three-consecutive matches and improved to 7-2 when playing at home. The Bulldogs' only home losses this season occurred against No. 28-ranked Auburn and perennial South Region powerhouse Tulane.
In Sunday's nine-match sweep over
Wofford (8-8, 1-3 SoCon), Samford won all three doubles matches, as well as all six of the singles contests.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs posted a brilliant 5-2 victory over SoCon-rival Furman.
Samford swept the Terriers in doubles play with respective wins of 8-3, 8-0 and 8-4. Then, in the singles competition, the Bulldogs received straight-set victories from

Yasmeen Ebada,
Carita Moolman,
Iva Parapunova and
Savannah Wood, while
Jessica Northcutt toppled Wofford's Kalli Karas in a three-set battle, 6-1, 3-6, 10-4.
In SoCon play this season, Samford owns a cumulative 5-1 record in doubles play, as well as a dominant 10-2 mark in singles.
The Samford University women's tennis team will next be in action Saturday at 10 a.m. (CDT) as the Bulldogs conclude their three-match SoCon homestand against the ETSU Buccaneers in an early-season league duel to be held at the Samford Tennis Center.
