Live Stats

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --
The Samford University women's tennis team will compete in its biggest match of the 2015 campaign Saturday at noon (CDT) as the Bulldogs travel to face the Chattanooga Mocs in a Southern Conference regular-season title match to be held at the UTC Tennis Courts.

Both Samford (12-8, 6-0 SoCon) and Chattanooga (17-2, 5-0 SoCon) are undefeated in conference play this season and the winner of Saturday's contest will earn the SoCon regular-season title.

Samford heads into the showdown boasting a two-match winning streak. After coming up short at Troy, 4-3, in a non-conference duel held April 8, the Bulldogs have rallied for back-to-back 7-0 triumphs at UNCG and Western Carolina.

Samford has been victorious in seven of its last eight matches, including a 6-0 record against SoCon opponents.

So far this season, the Bulldogs boast a 31-5 singles record against conference foes. Additionally, Samford's Carita Moolman, Stephanie N'tcha and Savannah Wood are all undefeated in league play this spring.

In doubles, Samford owns a 15-3 SoCon record this year as the Bulldogs' No. 2 pairing of Yasmeen Ebada and Jessica Northcutt holds an unblemished 6-0 mark in conference play.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Chattanooga enters Saturday's SoCon championship match as the hottest team in league play this season. The Mocs are in the midst of a 10-match winning streak and haven't been defeated since March 4 when they fell at home to No. 65-ranked Middle Tennessee, 5-2.

Since then, Chattanooga has rattled off consecutive wins against UNCG, Stetson, Alabama State, UAB, Morehead State, Western Kentucky, Furman, ETSU, Wofford and Western Carolina.

The Mocs are having one of their best seasons in recent history and Saturday will be their Senior Day as Kaylene Chadwell, Claire Mulyadi and Jovanna Pecovski close out their home careers.

Pecovski is a three-year letter winner who transferred to Chattanooga from Oklahoma State in the fall of 2012. The Apatin, Serbia, native is 21-12 in her career in singles and 15-9 in doubles play over the last three seasons.

Mulyadi came to Chattanooga from Semarang, Indonesia, and has solidified the bottom part of the lineup throughout her career. She earned second team All-SoCon doubles honors last season and is a two-time Academic All-SoCon selection.

Mulyadi owns a 15-4 record at No. 5 this spring and has a 13-7 overall record in doubles play. She holds a 46-25 career mark in singles and 30-22 record in doubles play.

Chadwell is a four-year letterwinner from Franklin, Tennessee. She is a First-Team All-SoCon doubles pick from a year ago and a two-time Academic All-SoCon and two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. Chadwell is 20-7 in both singles and doubles this season and her career marks stand at 82-39 in singles and 85-36 in doubles.

EBADA EARNS WEEKLY SOCON HONOR
Samford's Ebada was named the SoCon Player of the Week Tuesday after the Bulldogs' senior netter registered a perfect 5-0 record in dual-match play last week.

Ebada helped Samford remain undefeated in SoCon play by turning in an unblemished 5-0 record. In league competition, the Bulldogs' native of Cairo, Egypt, turned in a 3-0 mark as she led Samford to dominant road wins at UNCG, 7-0, and Western Carolina, 7-0.

With her brilliant play throughout the week, Ebada finished 2-0 in doubles and extended her dual-match winning streak to eight-consecutive victories along with junior teammate Northcutt. The duo competed at No. 2 doubles last week and breezed to wins against UNCG's Stephanie Falcon and Blaine Boaz, as well as Western Carolina's Shannon Bettiol and Elizabeth Ansari, 8-0.

In singles play, Ebada registered a 3-0 record at the No. 2 singles position and won all three matches in straight sets. Against counterparts from Troy, UNCG and Western Carolina, Ebada notches consecutive triumphs of 6-4, 6-2; 6-4, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-4.

SAMFORD vs. CHATTANOOGA:  THE FACTS
The Bulldogs own a 13-12 all-time record against the Mocs and posted a pair of wins over Chattanooga last season. On April 12, 2014, Samford notched a thrilling 4-3 home triumph and then topped the Mocs, 4-0, six days later in the SoCon Tournament. The Bulldogs have been victorious in seven of the last nine meetings between the teams.
