Jermaine Seoposenwe set a school record with four assists and added a goal of her own.
In just three matches this season, Kelley has already scored five goals, while Seoposenwe has handed out seven assists. In her career, Kelley has scored 20 goals and moved into sole possession Friday of seventh place in the school's all-time goals list.
The single-season record for goals is 11, which was achieved by former Bulldog-great Marian Wagner in 2002.
AGAINST MEMPHIS ON FRIDAYAlso scoring goals for Samford against the Tigers were freshmen
Kaitlyn Orman and
Ella Baggett. Samford's defense only allowed eight shots on goal and goalkeeper
Katie Peters made a pair of spectacular goal-saving stops.
Samford's triumph over Memphis on Friday snapped the Bulldogs' three-match losing streak against the Tigers and proved to be their first win in the series since 2007.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITIONWake Forest (1-0-1) heads into Sunday's matchup with an undefeated record on the young 2015 campaign. In exhibition play, the Demon Deacons defeated Ohio State, 1-0, and then opened the regular season with a demonstrative 4-0 home victory over Georgia.
Wake Forest played at Alabama on Friday and battled to a 0-0 delay-filled draw in Tuscaloosa. The match included a pair of half-hour lightning delays and didn't wrap up until 10:30 p.m.
The Deacons held advantages in shots (18-10), shots on goal (7-2), and corner kicks (3-1), but were unable to put away any of the opportunities.
Wake Forest's Bayley Feist, Lizzy Kinkler and Kendall Fischlein each took four shots, but Alabama goalkeeper Emily Rusk was up to the challenge, saving all seven shots on goal.
The Demon Deacons' Lindsay Preston was equally effective, though tested to a lesser extent. She saved Alabama's two shots on goal to extend the Deacs' season-opening scoreless streak to 200 minutes.
