BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The Samford women's tennis team will host Kennesaw State Saturday and Georgia State Sunday, both at 11 a.m. at the Samford Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a record of 1-1. Samford opened the season with a 7-0 win at home over Jackson State. The Bulldogs then fell at #40 Auburn, 7-0.

In the win over Jackson State, Samford swept all six singles matches in straight sets.
Jessica Northcutt and
Ellie Gerlach posted impressive 6-0, 6-0 sweeps. The Bulldogs also swept the doubles matches for the convincing win.

In the loss at Auburn, Samford narrowly lost the doubles point, falling in the deciding match, 7-6 (7-3). Auburn swept the singles matches from Samford.

Kennesaw State is currently 0-2 on the young season. The Owls have opened the season with losses at Middle Tennessee (5-2) and Georgia Tech (6-1).

Georgia State will play its first dual match of the spring season Saturday afternoon at UAB, before playing at Samford Sunday morning.
