CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Samford men's tennis team will continue its road swing with a match at The Citadel Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Samford enters the match with a record of 8-4 overall and 2-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs have won three matches in a row and are coming off a 5-2 win at UNCG on Saturday.
Seniors
Fares Kilani and
Trey Carter have led the team at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Kilani has a record of 7-5 (6-5 at No. 1, 1-0 at No. 2), and Carter has a mark of 8-4 (7-4 at No. 2, 1-0 at No. 1).
Justin Ghavami has a record of 8-3, playing at No. 3 singles.
Jake Faundez has a team-best record of 8-1, all at No. 6.
Leonard Gerch has posted a mark of 5-5 (4-4 at No. 4, 1-1 at No. 5).
Eduardo Lourido Sanchez has a record of 2-6 (2-5 at No. 5, 0-1 at No. 4), while
Austin Heinz is 1-0 at No. 4 singles.
In doubles, Carter and Gerch are 6-4 at No. 1. Faundez and Sanchez have a record of 7-2 (4-1 at No. 2, 3-1 at No. 3). Ghavami and Kilani are 5-4 (4-1 at No. 3, 1-3 at No. 2), and Heinz and Kilani are 1-0 at No. 3.
The Citadel is currently 8-18 overall and 0-1 in league matches. The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-1 loss to Navy on March 16. The Citadel also hosts DePaul on Monday.
