BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will play host to Lipscomb in a non-conference match Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Complex.
Samford enters the match with a record of 9-10 overall and 4-2 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 5-2 loss at Furman last Sunday.
For the season, Samford has won four of its last six matches, all in SoCon play. Thursday's match will mark the team's final non-conference match of the season.
Samford has been led this season by a talented group of seniors.
Jessica Northcutt has played every match at No. 1 singles, posting a record of 6-12.
Carita Moolman has played at No. 2 singles with a record of 8-9, while
Iva Parapunova, playing at No. 3 singles, has a record of 6-13.
Northcutt and Moolman have also teamed up for Samford's No. 1 doubles pairing. Northcutt and Moolman have a record of 12-6 at the No. 1 doubles position.
Behind the three seniors,
Savannah Wood has a record of 11-8 (4-4 at No. 4, 7-4 at No. 5).
Ellie Gerlach has a mark of 10-8 (5-6 at No. 4, 5-2 at No. 5).
Annika Hepp is 8-5 at No. 6 singles, while
Georgina Jupp has a record of 2-2 at the No. 6 spot.
Lipscomb comes into the contest with a mark of 12-6 overall. The Bisons are coming off a 6-1 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology last Saturday.
