BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will host South Alabama Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Samford Tennis Complex.
Samford enters the match with a record of 4-1 on the young season. The Bulldogs have won four-straight matches and are coming off a 5-2 win over cross-town rival UAB Thursday afternoon.
In the win over UAB, Samford won all three doubles matches, and the Bulldogs earned singles wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 to secure the win.
Samford opened the spring season with a 7-0 loss at Auburn, but the Bulldogs have won their last four matches in a row. During the current streak, Samford has earned wins over Kennesaw State (7-0), Alabama-Huntsville (7-0), Louisiana Tech (5-2) and UAB (5-2).
South Alabama enters the match with a record of 3-1. The Jaguars fell to Texas A&M, 4-0, to open the spring season. USA has since taken wins over Xavier (La.) (6-1), Louisiana (6-1) and Nicholls State (7-0).
