BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will host the Jacksonville State Gamecocks Wednesday at 12 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Complex.
Samford enters Wednesday's match with a record of 4-2. The Bulldogs are coming off a 7-0 loss to South Alabama Saturday afternoon. Samford had won four matches in a row prior to Saturday's setback.
Samford freshman
Elsa Pool was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Week earlier today. Pool has a record of 4-2 (2-0 at No. 2, 2-2 at No. 3).
Annika Hepp also has a mark of 4-2 (1-0 at No. 4, 1-0 at No. 5, 2-2 at No. 6) so far this season.
Arianna Beltrame,
Ellie Gerlach and
Nadine de Villiers all have season records of 3-3 entering Wednesday's match.
Georgina Jupp is 2-0 so far this season, while
Savannah Wood has a mark of 1-3.
Jacksonville State is currently 3-3 on the young season. The Gamecocks are coming off a 4-3 loss at Alabama State Sunday afternoon.
