BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 Southern Conference home match to Furman Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
Furman swept the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match. The Paladins won, 6-4 on court No. 1, 6-4 on court No. 2, and 6-2 on the No. 3 court.
In singles, Samford's
Grace Jennings earned the win on the No. 6 court. She defeated Blair Martin, 6-4, 6-1. Furman earned singles wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to earn the 6-1 win.
With the loss, Samford falls to 8-9 overall and 0-3 in Southern Conference play. Furman improves to 17-5 overall and 4-0 in league matches.
Samford will host Wofford for the Bulldogs' final home match of the season Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center. Senior
