CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford women's tennis team earned its fourth-straight win, a 5-2 Southern Conference victory at Chattanooga in the regular-season finale for both teams Friday at the Guerry Tennis Center.
 
Samford swept the three double matches to earn the first point of the match. At No. 1 doubles, Ellie Gerlach and Grace Jennings defeated Samantha Caswell and Rachele Gazzola, 7-6 (7-5). On the No. 2 doubles court, Elsa Pool and Annika Hepp defeated Delaney Edwards and Sydney Patton, 6-4. At No. 3 doubles, Savannah Wood and Arianna Beltrame earned a 6-4 win over Caroline Hall and Mckenzie Barco.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 1, No.  2, No. 5 and No. 6 to secure the 5-2 win. At No. 1 singles, Gerlach defeated Caswell, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4). On the No. 2 singles court, Wood earned a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Edwards.
 
At No. 5 singles, Beltrame defeated Gazzola, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 6 singles, Hepp defeated Barco, 6-2, 6-0.
 
With the win, Samford ends its regular season with a record of 12-9 overall and 4-3 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga falls to 14-7 overall and 4-3 in league matches.
 
The pairings for next week's Southern Conference Tournament will be announced Saturday.
