GREENVILLE, S.C. – The fourth-seeded Samford women's tennis team was eliminated from the Southern Conference Tournament in a 4-0 setback to top-seeded Furman Saturday morning at the Mickel Tennis Center.
 
Samford ends its season with a record of 13-10. Furman improves to 22-5, and advances to Sunday's championship match against second-seeded ETSU.
 
Furman won the doubles matches on courts No. 2 and No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. The match on the No. 1 doubles court was not finished.
 
The Paladins then claimed wins in singles on courts No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 to clinch the victory. The matches on No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 were not finished.
 
At No. 1 singles, Furman's Ansley Speaks defeated Ellie Gerlach, 6-4, 6-2. On the No. 2 court, Katty Weymouth defeated Savannah Wood, 6-3, 6-0. Katarina Kozarov earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Grace Jennings at No. 4 singles.
