Jamerson Blount and offensive lineman
Royus Amos will both attend camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was announced Monday afternoon.
This marks four players from the 2016 Samford football team to earn opportunities with NFL teams.
Karel Hamilton signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals, and
Armando Bonheur signed with the New York Giants.
Blount led the Bulldogs in tackles as a senior in 2016, finishing the year with 99 total stops, including 53 solo tackles. He also had three pass break-ups, one interception and two fumble recoveries. Following the season, Blount was named second team All-SoCon by both the league's coaches and media.
Amos started all 11 regular-season games on the offensive line for Samford. For his career, Amos saw action in 41 games on the Bulldogs' offensive line.
In 2016, Samford posted its school-record sixth-straight winning season. The Bulldogs reached the NCAA Division I-FCS Playoffs for the second time in the last four years.
