2019 SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— A pair of games against defending national champion Florida State, two home tournaments and the always-tough Southern Conference schedule highlight the 2019 Samford softball schedule, released Tuesday afternoon.
 

Samford opens the season at the Cowgirl Classic at McNeese State, Feb. 7-9, where the Bulldogs will take on McNeese State, Lipscomb, Campbell and Arkansas. After hosting a doubleheader against North Alabama, Feb. 13, Samford will host the first of two home tournaments, Feb. 15-17, with Samford being joined in the event by DePaul, Georgia State and Eastern Illinois.

The Bulldogs will then travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for a tournament at defending national champion Florida State. In the tournament, which will be held Feb. 22-24, Samford will take on Lipscomb, Elon and Florida State.

Samford will then travel to Jacksonville State for a single game Feb. 27. The Bulldogs will then host their second tournament, Mar. 1-3, with Samford taking on Houston Baptist Jackson State, Evansville and Western Kentucky.

After a game at Troy, Mar. 6, Samford will compete in a tournament at Murray State, Mar. 8-10. In the MSU event, Samford is scheduled to take on Purdue-Fort Wayne, Northern Iowa and Murray State.

The following week, Samford will host a doubleheader with Tennessee State (Mar. 12), and then play at cross-town rival UAB (Mar. 13). That weekend, Samford will travel to Oxford, Miss., for two games with Ole Miss (Mar. 15 and 17) and one with Oklahoma State (Mar. 16).

After hosting a doubleheader with Tennessee Tech (Mar. 19), Samford will open Southern Conference play with a three-game series at defending SoCon champion UNCG (Mar. 23-24). Samford will then host a SoCon series with Furman (Mar. 30-31), followed by a single game with Belmont (Apr. 3).

Next up, Samford will play a league series at Western Carolina (Apr. 6-7), followed by a home SoCon series with ETSU (Apr. 13-14). Samford will then host a SoCon series with Mercer (Apr. 19-20), followed by a home game with UAB (Apr. 30).

Samford will wrap up its regular season with a SoCon series at Chattanooga, May 4-5. The 2019 SoCon Softball Tournament will be held in Chattanooga, Tenn., May 8-11.
