SAMFORD
1). The Bulldogs (10-20, 6-11 SoCon) enter Sunday's contest with a full head of steam after rolling to a 89-82 road victory at VMI on Friday to sweep the annual home-and-home series between the teams. Samford finished with six players scoring in double figures with Demetrius Denzel-Dyson and Josh Sharkey leading the way with 16 points apiece.

2). With a win and a Western Carolina loss at home against The Citadel, Samford would secure the No. 6 seed and earn the Bulldogs' first SoCon opening-round bye in school history. Samford is currently a game behind the Catamounts in the conference standings and would win the tiebreaker due to its possible victory over UNCG.

3). Samford guard Triston Chambers is tied for the SoCon's lead in 3-point shooting this season with a mark of 44.6 percent.

4). Samford will be meeting UNCG for the 22nd time in school history Sunday. Currently, the
Spartans hold a slight 11-10 advantage in the all-time series after they earned a 98-82 win earlier this season in the first meeting between the teams played at the Pete Hanna Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

5). In the Bulldogs' first meeting with UNCG on Jan. 27, Samford's Sharkey tallied a career-high 25 points in the contest, including 18 in the second half. Samford's speedy point guard from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, finished 4-of-5 from the field and turned in career-high 16-of-18 performance from the free-throw line.

UNCG
1). For the second straight year, the Spartans (23-7, 14-3 SoCon) head into the final game of the regular season with a chance to win a SoCon championship after UNCG posted a dominating 72-51 victory over Chattanooga on Friday in front of 5,062 fans at the Greensboro Coliseum.

2). UNCG can clinch a share of the regular season title with a win Sunday. The Spartans are tied for first place with ETSU and both teams are guaranteed a top-two seed in the SoCon Tournament. UNCG can earn the No. 1 seed with a win due to holding the tiebreaker over the Bucs.

3). The Spartans own 23 wins on the year, which is tied for second-most victories in a single season in UNCG history with the 1994-95 team. The Spartans only trail last season's 25-win team for most in program history. Additionally, UNCG tied its program-record with 14 SoCon wins, matching last year's total.

4). The Spartans are ranked fifth in the nation in scoring defense this season and are only allowing 62.9 points per game.

5). UNCG's James Dickey leads the SoCon in both rebounding (8.4) and blocked shots (2.2) per game this season.
