BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will host cross-town rival UAB Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center.
Samford enters the match with a record of 3-1. The Bulldogs opened the season with wins over Kennesaw State (6-1), Belmont (6-1) and UAH (6-1), before falling at Mississippi State (4-0) Sunday afternoon.
Holly Horsfall has led the team so far, posting a singles record of 3-0, splitting time between the No. 3 and No. 4 positions.
Grace Jennings has a record of 3-1 so far, playing mostly at the No. 5 spot.
Ellie Gerlach has played at the No. 1 position, posting a record of 2-2, while
Roos van der Zwaan has played on the No. 2 court, and is also 2-2.
Elsa Pool (2-1) has split her time between the No. 3 and No. 4 spots.
Arianna Beltrame is 2-0 at No. 6, while
Amanda Kilduff is 1-0, also at the No. 6 position.
UAB enters the match with a record of 2-4 so far this season. The Blazers are coming off a 4-1 loss at Mississippi State Sunday.
