BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will wrap up its regular season with matches at Wofford Friday at 1 p.m. (CT), and at Furman Saturday at 11 a.m. (CT).
Samford enters the weekend with a record of 11-8 overall and 4-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 7-0 loss at ETSU last Sunday.
Samford has won eight of its last 10 matches entering Friday's contest. If Samford can win both matches this weekend, the Bulldogs would claim a share of the SoCon regular-season title.
After spending the first six matches at the No. 2 singles position, senior Roos van der Zwaan has competed at the No. 1 spot in the last 13 matches. She carries a record of 10-9 (8-5 at No. 1, 2-4 at No. 2) into this weekend's matches. Fellow senior Ellie Gerlach has also played at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, compiling a record of 5-13 (2-4 at No. 1, 3-9 at No. 2).
Arianna Beltrame has compiled a mark of 11-3 (8-3 at No. 5, 3-0 at No. 6). Grace Jennings has a record of 11-4 (3-1 at No. 5, 8-3 at No. 6). Elsa Pool enters the weekend with a record of 11-7 (1-0 at No. 3, 10-7 at No. 4), while Holly Horsfall has a mark of 10-7 (9-7 at No. 3, 1-0 at No. 4). Amanda Kilduff is 1-0 at the No. 6 singles spot.
Wofford has a record of 9-8 overall and 1-5 in league matches. The Terriers are coming off a 4-3 win over UNCG Tuesday afternoon.
Furman currently leads the Southern Conference with a 6-0 record in SoCon matches. The Paladins are 16-8 overall, and are coming off a 4-3 win at ETSU last Friday.
Friday's match is set to begin at 1 p.m. (CT), while Saturday's contest will start at 11 a.m. (CT). Links to follow both matches are below.
