CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The third-seeded Samford women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to second-seeded ETSU in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament Saturday at The Champions Club.
ETSU won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to pick up the first point of the match. At No. 1 doubles, the match was tied at 3-3 with Samford's Roos van der Zwaan and Ellie Gerlach facing ETSU's Alory Pereira and Ioanna Markesini when the point was decided.
In singles, the Bucs earned wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 to close out the 4-0 win. The singles matches at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 were not finished.
Samford ends the 2018 season with a record of 13-10. ETSU improves to 13-10 on the season, and the Bucs will play for the SoCon title in Sunday's championship match.
