JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision in Southern Conference play at ETSU Sunday afternoon.
 
ETSU swept all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.
 
In singles, the Bucs took all six matches to pull away for the 7-0 win. The matches on the first four courts were in straight sets. On No. 5 and No. 6, the matches were taken to a third set. At No. 5, Melissa Esguerra defeated Arianna Beltrame, 4-6, 6-0, 10-5. At the No. 6 position, Yi Chi Ma defeated Grace Jennings, 3-6, 7-6, 10-7.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 11-8 overall and 4-1 in SoCon play. ETSU improves to 10-10 overall and 5-2 in league matches.
 
Samford will return to action Friday, April 13, when the Bulldogs play at Wofford. The match is set for a 1 p.m. (CT) start from Spartanburg, S.C.
