2018 FALL ACADEMIC ALL-SOCON TEAM (PDF)

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference released its Fall Academic All-Conference team Tuesday morning, and Samford placed 34 of its student-athletes on the team.
 
Samford's 34 student-athletes on the team posted an average GPA of 3.65. The soccer team led all of Samford's fall sports with 16 representatives on the team. The volleyball team placed seven student-athletes on the team, followed by football with five and men's and women's cross country with three each.
 
Four Samford student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 GPAs, tied for the second most in the league. Chattanooga led the SoCon with five. UNCG also had four student-athletes with 4.0 GPAs.
 
For the conference, a total of 355 student-athletes were selected to the team. The league's 10 women's soccer programs combined for 102 selections. The nine football programs combined for 84.
