BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a 6-1 win over Belmont Friday evening at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
Samford opened the match by taking two of the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the contest. The Bulldogs won on the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles courts to secure the doubles point.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 to wrap up the 6-1 victory.
 
The Bulldogs (1-0) will remain at home to host Mississippi State Saturday afternoon. The match is set for a 4 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center, and admission is FREE!
