BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Mississippi State Saturday night at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 1-1 on the season. Mississippi State improves to 2-0 with the victory.
 
Mississippi State won all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.
 
Samford's Grace Jennings earned a 0-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5) win over #55 ranked Emma Antonaki at No. 1 singles. Mississippi State won the other five singles matches to take the 6-1 victory.
 
Samford will play at Kennesaw State next Saturday, Jan. 26. The match is set for a 1 p.m. (CT) start from Kennesaw, Ga.
