BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University senior
Karisa Nelson of Samford track and field will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships once again, scheduled at the Birmingham Crossplex on March 8-9.
Nelson qualified for the women's mile event after running the event at the Dr. Sander Invitational and posting a 4:34.81 time. She also won the women's mile at the SoCon Championships this past weekend with a time of 4:38.23.
In 2017, Nelson qualified for the mile and won the national championship in the event – the first and only current national championship across all sports in Samford history. She'll get the chance to win a second title close to home
