BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory over Troy Thursday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 7-4 on the year. Troy falls to 4-4 with the loss.
 
Samford won the doubles match on the No. 3 court, but Troy came back to take the matches at No. 1 and No. 2 to earn the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.
 
In singles, Samford picked up wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 to secure the 4-3 win. Troy won the matches on the No. 5 and No. 6 singles courts.
 
Samford will host Alabama State Saturday at 1 p.m. A full recap and results will be posted to www.samfordsports.com following the completion of the match.
