BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Memphis Saturday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 8-5 on the season. Memphis improves to 8-6 with the win.
 
Memphis won the doubles matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the first point of the match.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 4 and No. 5. Memphis, however, took wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 to take the 5-2 win.
 
Samford will return to action on Wednesday, March 13 when the Bulldogs play at College of Charleston. The match is set for a 2 p.m. (CT) start from Charleston, S.C.
