MACON, Ga. – The fifth-seeded Samford women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to top-seeded Furman in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament Friday afternoon at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center.
With the loss, Samford ends its season with a 13-11 overall record. Furman improves to 23-1 on the season, and the Paladins advance to Saturday's championship match.
Furman earned wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.
In singles, Furman earned wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 to close out the 4-0 victory.
