BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford women's tennis team defeated the Wofford Terriers, 4-3 in the Bulldogs' final home match of the season Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
Samford improves to 11-10 overall and 2-4 in Southern Conference play. Wofford sinks to 11-7 overall and a 3-3 in conference play.
 
In singles play, the Bulldogs took home three out of the six matches. On court three, junior Natalia De Ugarte won her match in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. On court two, junior Holly Horsfall won her match 6-0, 6-4, and on court five, junior Arianna Beltrame won her match 7-5 7-5.
 
In doubles play, the Bulldogs dominated on all three courts. On court one, Elsa Pool and Horsfall won 6-3. On court two, Grace Jennings and Mary Kathrine Lewis won 6-2. On court three, Natalia De Ugarte and Arianna Beltrame won 6-3.
 
Samford will wrap up its regular season with a match at Chattanooga Saturday, April 13 at 12 p.m. (CT). Following that match, the Bulldogs will head to Macon, Georgia for the 2019 Southern Conference Tournament. The tournament will begin on April 18 and run through April 20.
