SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the second-straight week, Samford senior guard
Myron Gordon was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Week when the league released its weekly men's basketball awards Tuesday morning.
Gordon led Samford with 29 points as the Bulldogs took the SEC's Georgia Bulldogs to the wire before eventually falling, 79-75. He made 9-of-14 shots from the floor, including 4-of-8 from three-point range. He also contributed three rebounds and three assists in the game.
Gordon was also named Player of the Week last week after leading the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Belmont.
For the season, Gordon leads the team, averaging 22.7 points per game. He also averages 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
The Bulldogs currently have a 2-2 record for the young season. Samford plays at Troy Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
