BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to cross-town rival UAB Wednesday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.


 
With the loss, Samford falls to 4-4 on the season. UAB improves to 4-4 with the win.
 
Samford took the doubles point with wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead. The No. 1 doubles match was not finished.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 1 and No. 6. UAB, however, took the matches at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to take the 4-3 win.
 
Samford will host Murray State Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to the match is FREE.
