PENSAOLA, Fla. – Sam Strickland (3-0) allowed one run over 6.0 innings and the Samford University baseball team erupted for 12 runs, as the Bulldogs (11-1) claimed their seventh-straight victory with a 12-4 win over Louisiana (5-9) in the Cox Diamond Invitational at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Samford jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning. Ryan Crockett drove in the first of the Bulldogs' runs on an RBI single to right. After a throwing error led to Samford's second run, Taylor Garris, Brooks Carlson and Sonny DiChiara collected RBI singles to put the Bulldogs up 5-0.
 
	- The Bulldogs added three more runs in the top of the third to take a commanding 8-0 lead.
 
	- Conor Kimple scratched across ULL's first run with a single to center to cut the lead to 8-1.
 
	- Towns King smashed a two-run home run to left to extend Samford's advantage to 10-1 in the top of the 6th.
 
	- Nick Hagedorn singled to left to plate the Ragin Cajuns' second run of the contest in in the bottom of the eighth.
 
	- A DiChiara sac-fly RBI and a throwing error helped the Bulldogs add two insurance runs in the top of the ninth.
 
	- ULL scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to make the final margin 12-4.
 
 ON THE MOUND
	- Sam Strickland worked 6.0 innings allowing one run on six hits with a walk and eight strikeouts for the Bulldogs. The eight strikeouts match his season high versus Austin Peay.
 
	- ULL's Conor Angel (1-2) was saddled with the loss after allowing seven runs on five hits in just 2.0 innings of work. The Ragin Cajuns used five other pitchers in relief.     
 
NOTABLES 
	- Carlson (3-for-4), DiChiara, King and Garris all drove in two runs apiece.
 
	- Brennan Breaux led ULL with three hits.
