JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Samford women's soccer team picked up its eighth-straight win on the road Sunday afternoon as the Bulldogs topped the ETSU Buccaneers, 2-0, at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
With the win, Samford now holds a current overall record of 11-3-2, 8-0 (SoCon), while ETSU falls to 5-5-3, 2-4-1 (SoCon) on its season. The 2-0 shutout also marked the Bulldogs ninth consecutive win over the Buccaneers, not dropping a match to ETSU since the fall of 2014 during the regular season.

- Samford gained an early 1-0 advantage 20 minutes into the match after Kyla Reynolds' cross into the box was originally deflected before landing at Taylor Yount's feet as she capitalized on the opportunity, slotting the ball past ETSU's goalkeeper to the bottom right corner of the goal.
- The Bulldogs doubled their lead just before the break at the 41st minute with Nikki Bario tallying her first goal of the season on a strike from distance. The Atlanta, Ga. native received a ball on a back-pass from teammate Zoe Perrin, launching it off the one-touch with her right foot from 20 yards. The ball went straight past ETSU's goalkeeper into the top shelf to give Samford a 2-0 victory.

- The Bulldogs outshot the Bucs 10-to-6 with five being on frame for Samford and three for ETSU.
- Both teams recorded three saves each with Morgan McAslan logging the entire 90 minutes between the posts for the Bulldogs.
- Samford took a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks while the Buccaneers earned 13 fouls compared to the Bulldogs' 11.
- Junior Taylor Yount registered her fifth goal of the season, while fellow junior Nikki Bario tallied her first goal of the season and fifth of her career.
- Senior Zoe Perrin locked in her first assist for Samford this year to go along with her two goals against Middle Tennessee and Jacksonville State.

The Samford women's soccer team will return home to Shauna Yelton Field on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. for its final game of the regular season as the Bulldogs face the Chattanooga Mocs. That Sunday will also serve as the annual Shauna's House fundraising game where all proceeds will continue to go towards Eden House, an orphanage in Thailand, to help build a sports center.
