BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University women's volleyball team will continue their Southern Conference road swing this Thursday and Friday, against the Tennessean duo ETSU and Chattanooga.

Kate Morgan's career high in digs against Western Carolina recording 27 on the night. Samford looks to get back to their conference winning ways against ETSU Thursday, Oct. 7 and Chattanooga, Friday, Oct. 8.

SERIES HISTORY
- ETSU
- The Bulldogs and Buccaneers have played 18 times with the series deadlocked at 9-9. The Bulldogs are currently riding a four-match win streak against ETSU taking both matches back in the spring by 3-1.
- Chattanooga
- Samford holds a commanding lead on Chattanooga with 25 wins and only six losses since the teams' first meeting in 2006. Samford split the road matches with the Mocs in the spring season topping Chattanooga in the first match 3-1, before falling on the road in a five-set thriller.
BULLDOGS TO WATCH
- Kenya McQuirter continues to build off of her SoCon Freshman of the Year campaign in the 2021 (Spring) season leading the team with 191 kills in 15 matches which ranks third in the Southern Conference. Â
- Samford middle blocker, Kate Wonus, ranks second in the SoCon in hitting percentage with a .287 hitting percentage with 70 kills on the season.
- Kate Morgan has been a mainstay for the Bulldogs defensively playing all 15 matches this year, recording a team high 185 digs averaging 3.63 digs per set. Morgan is coming off a career high performance against Western Carolina where she posted 27 digs.
OPPONENT QUICK LOOKS:
- The Buccaneers come into the weekend 2-2 in SoCon play leading the conference in assists (623) and second in kills (677). The Bucs are led by graduate student Josannah Vazquez with 172 kills on the season and Taylor Roberts who leads ETSU defensively with 228 digs.
- Chattanooga stands at 5-12 on the season and 1-3 in Southern Conference play topping Furman Oct. 1 in a five-setter. The Mocs are led by junior middle blocker Maia Rackel offensively who has recorded 214 kills on the season including a season high 25 kills against Western Illinois Sept. 4. In the back row, freshman defensive specialist Paige Gallentine leads the team with 307 digs.
