KEY PLAYS
- The Bulldogs kept the pressure on in the first half, outshooting the Citadel 13 to 3, but Samford's best chance would come at the 31:24 minute mark with Jennifer Seward firing a shot from way outside the 18-yard box. This forced the Citadel's goalkeeper, Brie Sikes, to fully extend in order to tip the ball over the crossbar to keep the Bulldogs scoreless.
- Audrey Kleiman had a cheeky effort 11 minutes into the second half with a backwards heel flick to give Caroline Donovan a prime opportunity in front of goal, but once again Brie Sikes made a big time save for the fellow Bulldogs to keep the game notched at 0-0.
- After 76:13 minutes of play, Samford found its first goal of the game after Kyla Reynolds advanced the ball off a header to Caroline Orman who then lofted the ball over Sikes for a 1-0 lead.
- The second goal would come nine minutes later off a three-header set piece as Mary Raymond headed the ball to Alex Bice who then headed it to Kylie Gazza who had a header of her own to double the score.
- Morgan Greene would tag on another goal for the Bulldogs in the final minute of play after her shot from the top of the 18-yard box hit the inner left post and into the back of the net for a 3-0 victory over the Citadel.
