BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After back-to-back wins at home this past weekend, the Samford women's soccer team will close out its regular season on the road against VMI on Thursday, Apr. 1 at 3 p.m. and UNC Greensboro on Saturday, Apr. 3 at 12 p.m.
The Bulldogs improved their overall record to 5-1-3, 5-0-2 after their impressive performance against Mercer and the Citadel. The VMI Keydets hold a current record of 1-6-2, while UNCG sits at 3-4-2 on its season. The Spartans will take the field against Chattanooga before facing Samford.

BULLDOGS TO WATCH
- Ella Simpson is becoming an impact player for Samford with three goals this season. The freshman put the Bulldogs back in the match against Mercer this past weekend with the equalizer after she got a head on Alyssa Frazier's corner kick. Simpson has now collected six points and a total of nine shots with six being on frame.
- Caroline Orman has secured two goals on 14 shots for the Bulldogs. The senior found her first goal of the season against ETSU and her second this past weekend against the Citadel where she a season-high five shots.
OPPONENT QUICK LOOKS:
- VMI has only recorded one win this season with a 5-0 victory over Southern Virginia. The Keydets have a current record of 0-6-1 in conference play, dropping their most recent game against UNCG 1-0. Kiley Cropper has played in all nine games for VMI and leads the offensive attack for the Keydets with two goals, one assist, and seven shots. In goal, Sidney Swoope has allowed all 18 goals against VMI while registering 35 saves in her 747 minutes between the posts this season.
- UNC Greensboro has seen three wins, three losses, and one tie in conference competition. The Spartans have fallen to ETSU, Furman, and Mercer. Offensively, Ashley Avelino and Maddy Gilhhol lead the way with two goals each, while Rachel Rouse is a key player behind the attack with a team-high two assists. Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper has spent the majority of her time in goal for the Spartans, allowing four goals while posting 32 saves this season.
